As the new Batman movie – The Dark Night Rises opens in theaters on July 19th, i thought a great way to start my blog would be with cultural icon George Barris. He is know for creating classic TV cars like KITT (Knight Rider), General Lee – (Duke of Hazzards), Munster coach (The Munsters) Black Beauty (The Green Hornet) and of course The Batmobile.
When i was in LA couple years ago, i had the pleasure to visit The Barris Kustom Ind in North Hollywood thanks to my uncle and my aunt for taking me. It was a great experience, seeing cars up-close and in person that you grew up watching on TV.
I had asked the receptionist if Mr. George Barris was in today and she goes would you like to meet him? i said would be honored if he was not busy. The receptionist told us to go to his office, i knocked on his door, and introduced myself and my uncle. Mr Barris came out wearing a blue T- shirt and orange shorts and gave us a tour of his car showroom. I asked Mr. George Barris if i could get an autographed picture of him and he personalized it for me. Before leaving i asked if i could get a picture taken with him in-front of the Batmobile.
I had a great time at the Barris Kustom Ind, i got to see kitt, the Batmobile and meet the legend Mr. George Barris himself.
I would highly recommend going to the Barris Kustom Ind in North Hollywood to see the Batmobile and maybe run into king of Kustom cars himself – George Barris.

The day long event was filled with family fun – games and rides for the kids, market vendors, a pancake breakfast sponsored by The Optimist club of Milton, and lunch BBQ provided by M&M Meats.
